Canadian Premier League 2025 Season Gets Underway

The Canadian Premier League kicked off the 2025 season this past weekend with a number of games across the country. Vancouver Football Club hosted visiting York United at Willoughby Park Community Stadium in Langley, British Columbia on Sunday afternoon.

The game was played in heavy rain throughout making conditions difficult for the players and the spectators in the crowd.

York United goalkeeper Pavel makes a good save

After failing to convert 2-3 good opportunities in the first half, York United broke the deadlock in the 66th minute through striker Julian Altobelli. The two teams exchanged chances before Altobelli rifled in his second goal in the 84th minute to secure the win.
